This is the first time President William Ruto entered an affordable housing built in Turkana by the locals not the government. How grand is that?
And then of course we have troubled former DP Rigathi Gachagua with all Kenyan lawyers working hard for him.
In the rest of the country women are being killed everyday. It is horrific violence against Kenyan women and girls and what is the country doing about it?
Murdered Eastleigh women buried at Lang’ata Cemetery
Three women who were brutally murdered and their bodies dumped separately were buried Saturday at the Lang’ata Cemetery in Nairobi.
This came as detectives escalated the hunt for more suspects in the murder of Waris Dahabo Daud, her daughter Nusayba Abdi Mohammed and niece Amina Abdirashid, who lived in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
Family of 23-Year-Old Zetech Graduate Seth Nyakio Njeri Demands Justice After Her Tragic Death in Biafra, Thika
The family of 23-year-old Seth Nyakio Njeri, the only child of nominated Kirinyaga MCA Lucy Njeri, is demanding justice after her tragic death. The Zetech University graduate’s body was discovered on Monday, October 14, 2024, in a rented apartment in the Biafra estate, Thika.
Seth’s mother, Lucy Njeri, recounted that her daughter had left their home in Kamakis on Saturday, October 12, in high spirits. They remained in contact until Sunday, October 13, but then lost touch as Seth’s messages and phone calls went unanswered.
Worried, the family initiated a search but was unsuccessful until they received a distressing call from a friend informing them of Seth’s death.
“I found my daughter lying peacefully, a good soul; you could even think we were talking to each other because of the bond and the friendship we shared,” the mother stated. “I saw visible injuries on the neck,” she added.
And what else is important for the Ruto government?
Boniface Mwangi held at Kamkunji police station
Activist Boniface Mwangi was Sunday traced to a police station hours after he was picked up by police from his Machakos home.
He was traced to Kamkunji police station in Nairobi where he had been detained.
This was almost 50 kilometres from where he had been picked up by six men.
His family and friends had been worried about his whereabouts for hours before they found him at the police station.
His wife Njeri Mwangi who traced the activist to the station said police had accused him of inciting the public to cause violence.
“They are holding him over claims of incitement to violence. It is all about this marathon,” said Njeri.
Activist Hussein Khaleed was also among those who went to see him at the station.
“I can confirm that @bonifacemwangi is being held at Kamukunji Police Station in Nairobi, booked under the charge of incitement to violence. Family, lawyers, friends and colleagues are at the station following up,” he said.
And God must save the country as ordered by the president. What more can Kenyans ask for?
Ruto to critics: We don’t go to church to hunt votes
President William Ruto has fired back at critics who have questioned politician’s faith saying like any other Kenyans, leaders go to church because they are seeking the kingdom of God.
A section of the clergy and politicians have bashed leaders accusing them of preaching water while taking wine, challenging them to keep off pulpits.
But President Ruto, who attended a church service in Moiben, Uasin Gishu County on Sunday, rubbished the claims saying leaders don’t go to church to play politics.
“We don’t come to church to play politics, we know where to play politics or look for votes, when we come to church, it is because we have a plan to go to heaven,” President Ruto said.
The President said he owes nobody an apology for confessing his faith and attending church saying freedom of worship is provided for in the Constitution.
“We are very unapologetic about our faith in God and we are not in church to look for fame or to look for votes. We come to church because we are Christians and we believe in God. In any case, the Constitution of Kenya, the first chapter, says God of all creation,” he said.
Leaders, activists demand Boniface Mwangi’s release
They said right to freedom enshrined in the constitution must be upheld
A group comprising human rights defenders, political leaders and lawyers have condemned the arrest of activist Boniface Mwangi.
Mwangi was on Sunday traced to Kamkunji police station in Nairobi hours after he was picked up from his Machakos home.
Human rights defenders and lawyers led by Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua have called for his unconditional release.
In a statement on Sunday read by Karua, the group said they are united to resist the oppression of Kenyans.
They said Mwangi is a man who has courageously dedicated his life to defending the rights and freedoms of all Kenyans.
“This targeting of activists, journalists and youth is a direct assault on the principles of equality, justice and freedom embedded in Kenya’s Constitution. Kenya must not be a place where families live in fear that loved ones may be taken in the dead of night, never to return,” Karua said.
She was flanked by former UNCTAD secretary general Mukhisa Kituyi, former CJ Willy Mutunga, former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando and rights and Muslims for Human Right Board member, Khelef Khalifa.
“The right to life and liberty enshrined in our constitution must be upheld – not selectively, not conditionally, but absolutely,” the group said.
“We unequivocally state that the government must take full responsibility of the safety and wellbeing of comrade Boniface Mwangi and indeed all the disappearances and extrajudicial killings happening in Kenya especially since the June, 2024, Gen Z protests.”
